Its rich aroma and flavor are two of many reasons for Café Los Andes superiority. Our tradition dates back to more than five generations of dedication and perfection of our coffee planting methods, harvesting and processing.
Café Los Andes is the result of combining traditional growing techniques, ideal roasting procedures and an exclusive packaging system. These, in addition to the distinctive human input in the selection of each coffee bean, allow you to enjoy a very well balanced coffee cup in all aspects, with an excellent body and good acidity, intense aroma and a refined gourmet aftertaste.
Bean Size
Coffees are classified by using a screen size sorting system. Coffees of the highest altitudes, such as Café Los Andes, are more dense and larger in size than at those of other altitudes. It is also known that coffees of higher altitudes develop at slower pace and have the best flavor profiles. Therefore, there is a correlation between size, density, and quality, which you may easily identify in our coffee.

Grind
The best way to get a real quality cup of coffee is by grinding the beans shortly before brewing. That is whyCafé Los Andes is available in Beans- a truly Gourmet coffee should allow you to grind the coffee according to the needs of your specific coffee maker (home espresso machines, coffee plunger, filtered coffee, percolators, cafeterias, etc).
However, we understand that you may not be a coffee connoisseur and it is our intention to help you learn the key aspects of getting a perfect cup of Los Andes coffee so we also offer a Ground presentation of 100gr. available only upon request, and you are advised to consume it in the shortest time after opening. Once you get into the coffee rhythm we would really recommend getting one inexpensive burr coffee grinder.
Roast
By watching coffee commercials and reading the ads, one would easily believe the dark roast is a superior coffee. When it comes to the roast of your coffee, don’t believe mass marketing that says the dark roast is the ultimate expression of quality coffee. It’s not.
Dark roast simply means that the coffee bean has been roasted to a higher temperature and typically for a longer period of time so that the end consumer (you) can’t tell whether it’s a good bean or a bad bean because all the natural flavors have been turned to charcoal.
That is why Café Los Andes prefers a Medium High roast for its beans, which has been proved to be the ultimate degree at which the highest nuances of our coffee beans are brought out.
Presentation
Café Los Andes Gourmet comes in an exclusive aluminum foil bag with the following characteristics:
- High resistance to light and external factors which guarantees a longer duration of the coffee and preservation of all its properties.
- A zipper, allowing you to firmly close the bag every time you take the coffee servings wanted.
- A one-way degassing valve. Every time you open a coffee container or bag the beans are exposed to oxygen, which speeds up their decomposition. This valve was designed to drive out the oxygen captured inside the bag and stop any from coming in.
